Five newcomers voted onto IDA board

Five new faces are among the 21 members voted to serve on the board of the International Desalination Association (IDA) for 2011-13 as a result of the elections which closed on 13 August 2011.

They will be joined later by one member from each of IDA’s 14 subsidiaries.

Leading lights from two young companies are among the newcomers: Guillaume Clairet, director of business development at Canada’s H2O Innovation, and Rick Stover, executive vice-president of Israel’s Desalitech.

They are joined by Alistair Munro, CEO of PROJECX consultancy in Dubai; Zamzam Alrakaf, chief engineer, Ministry of Electricity & Water, Kuwait; and Gary Crisp, global business leader – desalination for Australian consultants GHD and a member of D&WR‘s editorial board.

Of the 2204 members eligible to vote, 1360 members (62%) participated in this process using IDA’s on-line voting system.
