Energy Recovery bags US$ 1.8 million Morocco deal

Pressure energy technology firm, Energy Recovery, has won a US$ 1.8 million deal to supply its PX pressure exchanger technology for a desalination plant in Morocco.

Energy Recovery’s PX-Q300 units will be installed in a 100 Ml/d plant being developed by Morocco’s National Power Drinking Water Office (ONEE) to supply 500,000 people.

Energy Recovery said its technology will reduce the plants demand by 10.5 MW saving some 92 GWh a year. The PX-Q300 will also reduce the plant’s carbon dioxide output by 54,200 tonnes a year.

The company expects the order to ship in the fourth quarter of 2015.
ONEE said the plant – being built under a public-private partnership - could be doubled in size in the future.
