Marine environmental scientist Sabine Lattemann of the Institute for Marine Chemistry & Biology, University of Oldenburg in Germany, who is a member of the Editorial Board of Desalination & Water Reuse, has been awarded a PhD.
She completed the public defence of her thesis Development of an Environmental Impact Assessment and Decision Support System for Seawater Desalination Plants and was awarded her doctorate by the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education and Delft University of Technology in an agreement with the University of Oldenburg.
Dr Gary Amy, professor of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation in UNESCO-IHE, was Lattemann’s adviser. Sabine, who has contributed articles and advice to D&WR on environmental issues, is based in Berlin and will continue to do part-time research in addition to her work on offshore wind energy for the German EPA.
