Desalination and sulphate-removal systems are to be supplied by Degrémont to two Brazilian floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels under an order placed by Tupi BV, a subsidiary of Petrobras.
Suez Environnement subsidiary Degrémont has a contract for two desalination and two sulphate-removal units to be delivered to Keppel FELS Brasil, which is building the FPSOs in its shipyard in Angra dos Reis, Brazil.
“Following the discovery of ultra-deep reservoirs 300 km from its coast, Brazil will become the sixth largest oil producer by 2020,” said Rémi Lantier, chief executive of Degrémont. “With this contract, Degrémont proves its capability to accompany Petrobras in its needs for innovative water solutions for upstream oil and gas production.”
