Course information and a downloadable registration form for the first set of Desalination Academy courses being run by the International Desalination Association (IDA) are available on the IDA website.
The inaugural Desalination Academy courses will be held on 4-5 July 2012 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, in conjunction with this year’s Singapore International Water Week. The inaugural two-day curriculum will feature two concurrent half-day courses offered morning and afternoon.
Courses can be tailored to each participant’s particular interest area and professional needs. Participants may attend any two of the courses on Day One or up to four courses over both days.
In addition to the lectures, the Academy will offer a bonus tour of the SingSpring desalination plant on 6 July 2012 in Singapore.
Course topics will range from in-depth examination of membrane and thermal technologies, to costing strategies and plant operations. Master teachers for these inaugural courses are Lisa Henthorne, Dr Mark Wilf, Nikolay Voutchkov, David H Paul, Dr Corrado Sommariva and Leon Awerbuch.
