Water used for China’s industry will be reduced by 7% this year and by 30% by 2015 against unit output, Zhou Changyi, director of energy conservation, told a conference in Nanjing on 28 March 2011.
The cuts are part of the country’s wider plan to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions per unit of industrial value-added output by 18% by 2015, said deputy minister Su Bo from the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology.
