The Australian government has cut its funding for the National Urban Water & Desalination Plan – Water For The Future – by Aus$ 25.7 million (US$ 25.7 million) in 2011-12 under the recently announced national budget.
The remaining program funding of Aus$ 201.9 million (US$ 201.8 million) over four years from 2012‑13 will continue to be available for desalination, recycling and stormwater harvesting projects.
