California water treatment company APTwater Inc and industrial gas supplier Air Products have signed a joint marketing agreement that broadens collaboration and use of APTwater’s patented HiPOx® process technology for advanced water treatment projects worldwide.
The new agreement expands opportunities and geographical reach for both companies into global markets for industrial and municipal water treatment applications.
Recently, the two companies completed one of the largest applications in the world of APTwater’s HiPOx® Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) technology, the 30 MGD (113,500 m³/d) Aquifer Storage & Recovery treatment system for the City of Wichita, Kansas. This advanced oxidation process destroys atrazine, controls bromate formation and meets virus inactivation requirements for health and human safety.
APTwater was also awarded a contract in February 2011 to use its technology for a municipal water-reuse system for the City of Anaheim, California, a high-profile demonstration facility that will supply reclaimed water for toilet flushing, irrigation, and recreational use.
This agreement enables both firms to team on a project-by-project basis. APTwater will be promoting HiPOx to the North American municipal market directly and through the development of a new manufacturer’s representative network, a right previously held exclusively by Air Products. Air Products will have an exclusive right to promote HiPOx® for its onsite wastewater treatment offering provided to industrial clients worldwide.
