Adelaide desalination plant’s first water delayed 3 months

AdelaideAqua, the Acciona-led consortium building the Adelaide desalination plant, has told South Australia (SA) Water that, following a recent review of the construction program, first water will not now be supplied until July 2011.

Only last month, South Australia’s water minister Paul Caica announced that first water would be ready by April 2011.

SA Water chief executive John Ringham said SA Water is reviewing the causes of this latest delay and also the impacts on the overall project timeline. There was no announcement of the effect of the delay on the proposed handover date of the end of 2011.
