A € 17 million contract won by Spain’s Acciona Agua for a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Peru will enable water reuse on local farms.
Acciona Agua has been awarded a build-design- operate-maintain contract for the Escalerilla WWTP by the Arequipa water services company Sedapar (Servicio de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Arequipa).
The Arequipa WWTP is Acciona Agua’s third contract in Peru. In 2002, the company built a desalination plant that is currently operating in Talara, and at the end of last year the company was awarded the La Chira WWTP.
