Abstracts for EDS EuroMed 2010 needed by 15 February

A call for papers was issued on 3 January 2010 by the European Desalination Society (EDS) for its EuroMed 2010 conference and exhibition in Tel Aviv, Israel, on 3-7 October 2010.

This is the sixth event in the EuroMed series and the ninth by the EDS in the Mediterranean region. It provides a forum for professionals, scientists and technologists in all aspects of water desalination to meet and to exchange their ideas and experiences, and to update their knowledge of latest developments in the various aspects of water desalination.

The conference theme is Desalination For Clean Water & Energy. A list of topics can be found on the EDS website.

In Israel, desalination technology has been developing since the 1960s. Today, some of the world’s largest plants, Ashkelon, Palmachim and Hadera, provide water for the country’s population, and more are to dot the Mediterranean coastline. At the same time, a Jordan-Israel project to bring water from the Red to the Dead Sea via a desalination plant is being studied.

The deadline for conference abstracts is 15 February 2010. If accepted, full papers will be required by 15 June 2010.

A flyer containing conference information and abstract submission details can be downloaded from EDS. Online registration can be made through www.desline.com.

The conference will be accompanied by an international exhibition of desalination and water reuse products and services, which will be organised by ACE Event Management of the UK. Contact Tracey Nolan-Shaw at info@ace-events.com.
