Adelaide size may be doubled as Acciona emerges in front
The consortium led by Spain’s Acciona Agua was announced as preferred bidder for the Adelaide desalination project on 19 February 2009, as Australian media reported that the capacity of the new plant was to be doubled from 150,000 m³/d to 300,000 m³/d.

Boca Raton wastewater reuse system to be extended
The city of Boca Raton in Florida, USA, is to expand its In-City Reclamation Irrigation System (IRIS) from 7-8 MGD (26,500-30,000 m³/d) to 17.5 MGD (66,000 m³/d) during the next five years. Bidding is currently under way.

Adelaide to get Aus$ 62 million water reuse project
The federal Australian government and South Australia (SA) state will invest Aus$ 62.6 million (US$ 41.3 million) in a project to supply 1.6 million m³/year of treated wastewater to new housing developments in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, where a large desalination contract is also due to be let in March 2009.
