Biwater wins Pt Hueneme desalination contract
Biwater AEWT Inc announced on 30 September 2009 that it had been awarded a contract to design and supply a membrane desalination system for the City of Port Hueneme in California, USA. The new system will deliver a total of 1 MGD (3,785 m³/d) of high-quality drinking-water when completed.

New US Navy RO units ‘will use 65% less energy’
The United States Office of Naval Research (ONR) is planning to build prototype desalination units that will use 65% less energy and be 40% smaller by weight than current Navy reverse-osmosis (RO) units, an ONR release on 23 September 2009 predicted.
