The University of Bahrain has signed memorandums of understanding with two UK universities to co-operate on research into desalination and water reuse technologies.
It follows a scientific co-operation forum organised by the British Council in February and November 2016 that covered issues of water, energy, and food.
The MoU with Oxford University, UK, is for co-operation on research into water treatment by reverse osmosis. The agreement will enable Bahraini researchers to access Oxford University’s expertise in developing solutions to reduce energy usage in desalination.
A second MoU, with Aston University, UK, is on connecting RO desalination systems to renewable energy sources.
