Smaller UF model released by QUA at AWWA show
A smaller compact ultrafiltration (UF) membrane module has been introduced by Pennsylvania- based QUA® at the ACE12 Annual Conference & Exposition, which opened on 11 June 2012 in Dallas, Texas.
Q-SEP 2008, which is NSF-certified, is a self-encapsulated hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membrane module (inside-out) with a membrane surface area of 20.0 m².
The total length including end cap is 1015 mm, and the unit has a diameter of 225 mm. The Q-SEP model 2008 module weighs 28 kg. As with other Q-SEP models, the 2008 module is mounted vertically.
Q-SEP hollow-fiber UF membranes are manufactured with QUA's "Cloud Point Precipitation" method. This innovative process ensures a high pore density along the length of the fiber and uniform pore size distribution in the membrane.
QUA says that the Q-SEP modules deliver superior performance characteristics and product water quality that surpass the quality from conventional UF modules, with low silt density index and excellent rejection of bacteria and viruses.
