Adionics salt extraction pinpoints ions

Salt extraction technology specialist, Adionics, has launched a selective ion extraction method for water deionization.

The technology - dubbed Selectex -  is able to extract up to three metal ions - typically sodium, potassium, calcium, strontium or barium - as neutral salts in line with a given specification leaving other ions in the treated water. The first pilots are scheduled to be implemented in the field in 2016.

Selectex is a derivation of Adionics' AquaOmnes technology which removes salts from saline water by extraction into a proprietary fluid. Adionics claims it can extract salts at any salinity without being limited by a scaling concentration.
