Xylem keeps place in US top sustainability league for fourth year
US water technology company, Xylem, has continued a run of inclusions in high-profile lists of companies showing outstanding performance in their environmental and social measures.For the fourth consecutive year, Xylem has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America. And it was included in the FTSE4Good Index Series, which recognizes stringent environmental, social and governance practices.
Xylem's president and chief executive officer, Patrick Decker, said: "These recognitions affirm the value of our efforts to advance sustainable business practices and report on them in a transparent way."
He added: "We firmly believe that as a global corporate citizen, we have a responsibility to lead by example and contribute in meaningful ways to the global sustainability agenda."
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America tracks the performance of the top 120 leaders in sustainability among the largest Canadian and United States companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index.
FTSE4Good is an equity index series created by the global index company FTSE to encourage investment in companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards.
·Colin Sabol has been appointed Xylem's senior vice president and president, analytics and treatment. He will lead the global operations of both divisions. Sabol was previously senior vice president and president, Dewatering. He will continue to as a member of the firm's senior leadership team and report to Patrick Decker. He will based at Rye Brook, New York. He replaces Chris McIntire, who is to leave the company at the end of the month.
David Flinton, has been promoted to senior vice president and president, Dewatering from his current post as vice president, marketing and engineering for Xylem's Applied Water Systems division. He will be responsible for all aspects of Xylem's dewatering operations globally.
