WE&RF appoints chief to run multi-million dollar research portfolio

Jeff Mosher has joined the Water Environment & Reuse Foundation (WE&RF) as chief research and strategic planning officer to lead its integrated water research programme.

Mosher will oversee a multi-million dollar portfolio of research on water supply, covering topics as diverse as wastewater reuse, water recycling, resource recovery, and stormwater resources.

The appointment comes as WE&RF begins a transformation of how it conducts research and provides services to the water industry.

“Jeff has the experience and vision to continue our evolution to be the leader in integrated water research that maximises the value of water by advancing resource recovery and reuse through innovations in our industry,” says WE&RF chief executive, Melissa Meeker.

Mosher has a track record of directing innovative research programmes that have expanded water supplies, supported sustainable reuse, and improved water resource management.

He joins WE&RF from the National Water Research Institute, where he served as executive director, pioneering the use of independent advisory panels to support state agencies, utilities, and communities, to study and implement innovations in water supply and resource management.

“We’re at a challenging and exciting time. Innovation is needed to transform our water resources to meet the needs of our communities, and WE&RF is at the forefront of that transformation,” said Mosher.
