Quindao desalination event gets IDA support
The International Desalination Association (IDA) has announced its support for the 2012 Qingdao International Desalination Conference, jointly organized by China Desalination Association (CDA) and other groups, and supported by Asia-Pacific Desalination Association and related countries.Set to take place on 26-28 June 2012, this will be the seventh staging of one of China's major desalination evens. The annual conference aims to build an exchange platform for the most advanced technology in desalination and water reuse, contributing to the industry's development in China and other countries around the world.
China's desalination industry is growing rapidly, and the country is expected to soon be one of the world's largest markets for desalination and water reuse.
IDA president Corrado Sommariva recently attended a meeting at CDA's office in Qingdao to formulate IDA's plans to support this year's conference. Several IDA Directors are expected to participate in the sessions.
An affiliate of IDA, the CDA is made up of more than 250 members including China's experts in the desalination and water treatment industry, scientific research institutes, business units, and individuals who are interested in the protection of the country's water resources. Its main purpose and mission is to develop and promote the various desalination and water treatment technologies, enhance China's combination of production, study and research, and promote domestic and international exchange and cooperation.
Papers have been invited and the deadline for abstracts is 15 March 2012.
Details about the conference will be available soon on IDA's website, as well as on the CDA website.
