Carlsbad Desalination Plant is likely poised for a sale since its owners hired advisors to support the process, reports Bloomberg.
The plant is owned by Orion Water Partners, a joint venture of Poseidon Water and Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners.
The reported potential price tag, including debt, was pegged at more than $1 billion by Bloomberg.
The owners have a 30-year agreement with San Diego County Water.
