Nirosoft to build small SWRO plant in Chile

Chilean regional water utility Aguas De Altiplano has awarded a contract to Nirosoft Industries for a small seawater reverse-osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant.

The 45 m³/h plant will be located in La Chanavayita, a small rural community in northern Chile.

The system is based on Nirosoft’s new NiroBox™ pre-engineered system, comprising ultrafiltration pretreatment, followed by three SWRO trains and post-treatment.

The US$ 3 million turnkey project is being funded by the Chilean ministry of public works, part of the APR initiative to bring potable water to rural communities. The project includes six months of operation and maintenance.

Nirosoft will execute the project jointly with its representative, SimTech Ltda.
