Go-ahead for Maharashtra UF reuse project

The deputy chief minister of the Maharashtra state government in India has directed the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and the Maharashtra Industries & Development Corporation to prepare a feasibility study for the PCMC water recycling project.

According the Times of India on 21 January 2011, the ultrafiltration project aims at reusing the effluent from the 120,000 m³/d capacity sewage treatment plant at Kasarwadi and supply it to industries and others for non-potable use. The water will be available for industries as well as builders and the PCMC for gardening and washing.
