The factory in Jubail Industrial City II will manufacture Filmtec reverse osmosis elements for markets across the Middle East and Africa, Eastern Europe, India, China, and Southeast Asia. Further, it will enhance production capabilities at Sadara Chemical Company, a joint venture of Dow and Saudi Aramco.

The operation replicates and expands DuPont’s membrane-making facility in Minnesota, US, and is the company’s first outside the US.

The building was opened on 3 December 2018, and the production line will begin operating in early 2019.

“This new production line is providing innovation that will help municipalities, businesses and people to access clean, high-quality water,” said DowDuPont speciality product division chief operating officer Marc Doyle.
