Details published of AMTA/SCMA Texas workshop

The American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) has released details of the technology transfer workshop it is holding in Texas in September in conjunction with the South Central Membrane Association.

The workshop on 30 September - 2 October 2013 is titled Membrane Technologies are Solving Texas Water Shortage Problems. The venue is the Isla Grand Beach Resort, South Padre Island.

The workshop will include a presentation on the feasibility study for the Guadalupe- Blanco River Authority's proposed seawater desalination plant; updates on other desalination and wastewater reuse projects in Texas; practical alternatives to demonstration-scale pilot testing in Texas; and an overview of the proposed reverse‑osmosis facilities for the San Antonio Water System Desalination Project.

There will also be an overview and facility tour of the Southmost Regional Water Authority Brackish Groundwater Treatment Facility.
