A meeting on issues related to water management and purification and seawater desalination is to be held in Algiers on 18 April 2011 between officials from the relevant ministries in Algeria and Morocco.
This is the first fruit of a memorandum of cooperation on water resources signed on 18 March 2011 by Abdelmalek Sellal, Algeria’s minister of water resources and Amina Benkhadra, the Moroccan minister of energy, mines, water and environment. The agreement provides for boosting cooperation between the two countries, mainly in irrigation, hydraulics, dam management, water transfer and seawater desalination.
