Deadline for IDA World Congress 2011 abstracts announced

The International Desalination Association (IDA) has issued a call for papers for the IDA World Congress 2011 on Desalination & Water Reuse. This biennial event will be held during 4-9 September 2011 at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre in Western Australia.

The deadline for abstracts is 1 October 2010.

IDA is seeking original work (not previously published) on a wide variety of topics. Abstracts and all required documents must be submitted electronically via the IDA congress paper management system on IDA’s website at www.idadesal.org.

The congress technical program will be led by co-chairs Neil Palmer, IDA director and general manager of technical services for Osmoflo, and Gary Crisp, IDA board committee member and global business leader – desalination at GHD Pty Ltd. Both represent Australia.

The Theme of the World Congress 2011 is Desalination: Sustainable Solutions for a Thirsty Planet. IDA says it reflects the association’s commitment to environmental responsibility in desalination and the efforts of the global desalination industry to further reduce energy requirements for desalination as its use becomes an increasingly important part of global water solutions for the 21st century.

Questions, concerns or difficulties with the online process can be addressed to IDA’s technical program manager, Darlene Seta at papers@idadesal.org.
