The Bay Area Regional Water Recycling Program Expansion Act of 2009, which sought to amend the Reclamation Wastewater & Groundwater Study & Facilities Act to expand the Bay Area Regional Water Recycling Program (BARWRP) in California, USA, failed to gain a necessary two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives on 30 September 2009.
A motion to reconsider the bill was agreed without objection.
The BARWRP is a partnership among 17 local San Francisco Bay Area water and wastewater agencies, the California Department of Water Resources and the federal Bureau of Reclamation. Federal participation in the BARWRP was first authorized in 1992.
