Babcock Borsig to renovate Kuwait distillers

Babcock Borsig Service Kuwait (BBSK) has been awarded an € 8.5 million (US$ 10.6 million) contract to repair and replace three desalination distillation units at the Shuwaikh Power & Distillation Station in Kuwait.

The project, for the Ministry of Electricity & Water, includes design, procurement, manufacturing, supply of parts and material dismantling, refurbishment, testing, commissioning and maintenance for a 3 year period.

BBSK aims to increase the 6 MIGD (27,000 m³/d) output from each distiller by using its patented Steam Recirculation System and Improved Brine Recirculation Circuit.
