BHP sponsors Water in Mining conference

BHP joins Suez and Stantec in sponsoring this year's global Water in Mining event in Toronto.

BHP is a world-leading resources company. They extract and process minerals, oil and gas, with more than 62,000 employees and contractors, primarily in Australia and the Americas. Their products are sold worldwide, with sales and marketing led through Singapore and Houston, United States. Their global headquarters are in Melbourne, Australia.

BHP's corporate purpose is to create long-term shareholder value through the discovery, acquisition, development and marketing of natural resources.

BHP's Head of Water, Blair Douglas, will be speaking on the second day, in a presentation entitled: 
"Maximising Sustainable Outcomes and Production Value by Setting Risk Based Water Targets2. This will focus on: Setting appropriate water targets and metrics based on risk; Incorporating uncertainty and variability into water targets; and Understanding the value of water in production planning and leveraging technology.
