Azerbaijan nears completion of giant ultrafiltration plant

Azerbaijan's national water operator Azersu OJSC has entered the final stages in its construction of a 520,000 m³/d ultrafiltration plant at Jeyranbatan water storage reservoir.

Azersu chairman Gorkhmaz Huseynov said the plant would be in operation this year to supply about 1 million people in the Absheron peninsula. The plant construction cost is reported in local press to be about US$ 1 billion.

The plant uses Dow, hollow-fibre membrane ultrafiltration modules.
