Australian government rebate for domestic water reuse

Australian households will be eligible for a rebate of up to Aus$ 500 (US$ 315) each for the purchase of a rainwater tank or a greywater reuse system under a new government program announced by the Minister for Climate Change & Water, Senator Penny Wong, on 30 January 2009.

Under the National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative. The $250 million National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative, rebates are available for the purchase and installation of a new rainwater tank which is connected for internal reuse of the water for toilet and/or laundry use or the purchase and installation of a permanent greywater treatment system.

An Aus$ 400 (US$ 252) rebate is available for a 2-3.9 m³ tank and a $500 rebate is available for a tank greater than 4 m³.
