Aquatech wins Saudi boiler-feed demineraliser

Pennsylvania-based Aquatech has won an order for a 130 m³/h demineralizing plant for a petrochemical facility in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.

The mixed-bed demineralizer for IBN Rushd, a Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation affiliate, will convert desalinated water and to demineralized water for downstream use as boiler-feed water. The treated water will have 0.1 µS/cm conductivity and silica levels of less than 0.1 ppm.

Aquatech supplied a similar plant of three mixed-bed units for the same facility in 1995. As part of the expansion plans, the two new units supplied by Aquatech will be consolidated with the earlier units.

The plant is expected to be completed around early 2013.
