Acciona Agua in bidding for Sydney desalination lease

Acciona Agua of Spain is part of one of at least three consortia bidding for leases on the Sydney seawater desalination plant in Australia.

Acciona with Australian utility partner Trility is looking to win the operations and maintenance contract. The Spanish company is also in the consortium currently completing the Adelaide desalination plant.

Deal Journal Australia reported on 1 December 2011 that Australian investment company QIC and Deutsche Bank’s infrastructure fund management business RREEF were also joining to bid, as was Industry Funds Management advised by Macquarie, both Australian.
