If you go down to the desert today you’re sure to get a surprise (EES)

Recently whilst carrying out the preparation of footings for a new development in the eastern part of the Libyan capital a developer uncovered a US Army WW2 vintage Sherman tank.  It was obvious after inspection that the vehicle had been destroyed during fighting for the city in the 1940’s.  The tank was recovered and now stands proudly in a compound within the city and is a reminder that in former conflict zones around the world the unexpected may turn up.
