KSB Aktiengesellschaft presents new borehole pumps

German pump maker KSB Aktiengesellschaft has introduced UPAchrom 100, a new series of submersible borehole pumps.

The new pumps are designed for water supply and irrigation applications, and for use in small systems for drawdown of groundwater levels. The series covers discharge heads up to 550 metres, and flow rates up to 21,500 litres an hour.

All of the pump components are made of stainless steel, and are able to handle water with solids content of 50 g/m3. An integrated, hydraulically-optimised check valve prevents the discharge line from emptying when the pump set is stopped, thus reducing any potential damage from reverse rotation.

The pumps are driven by water-filled canned motors, with a rating up to 7.5 kW, or by rewindable submersible motors with ratings up to 18.5 kW.

“The hydraulic systems satisfy the requirements of the European Union’s Energy-related Products (ErP) regulations, and all multivariate ENSO index (MEI) values are above 0.40,” said KSB. The pumps are “certified for drinking water to French (ACS), and US (NSF) standards,” it added.
