Sorek desalination planned to be ahead of schedule![]() The 16-in membrane elements installed in vertical pressure vessels at the Sorek site. "The construction is progressing vigorously and smoothly," said an IDE spokesperson. Phase 1 of the 150 million m³/year seawater reverse-osmosis plant is scheduled for completion in August 2013, with Phase 2 to be finished in December 2013. · An article on the Sorek desalination plant by IDE's executive vice president of special projects, Fredi Lokiec, will appear in the August/September 2012 issue of Desalination & Water Reuse.
