New appointments for D&WR Editorial Board membersFormer International Desalination Association president Lisa Henthorne, who is chief technology officer for Water Standard, has been appointed to the board of directors of Quebec-based H2O Innovation Inc. "We are very pleased to see Lisa join our board of directors. I am excited about the extensive knowledge and track record of success that she brings to our board", said Philippe Gervais, chairman of H2O Innovation. "Her unique experience in the field of membranes and desalination will help us develop strategies that will deliver increased value, particularly for our international activities." Meanwhile, membrane expert Doug Eisberg has joined Avista Technologies, specialists in membrane technology R&D and providers of cleaning chemicals and membrane autopsies. Eisberg is joining the Vista, California, firm as director of business development. He had been at Energy Recovery Inc since November 2008. Speaking to D&WR, a clearly delighted Eisberg said, "I had a number of available ways to go, but it was important to make sure that the company I joined had the technological capability to take it into the future. I'm very excited about the opportunities that are there; each day I'm at the company, something new turns up." Avista president Dave Walker stresses that the company will stick to its R&D base and use its research to provide facts rather than theories for membrane behaviour in the field. "We are going after new ground based on sound science," he said. "But we will stay focussed on our existing theme; we're not going into building equipment." Posted on 13 July 2010
