Biwater desalination award in British Virgin IslandsThe plant, which will produce 2.3 MIGD (11,360 m³/d), has a construction value of US$ 43 million and a subsequent 16-year operation and maintenance period. In addition, the contract provides for the design and construction of two sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, extensive pipelines and reservoirs. It also includes the provision and installation of a water distribution leakage reduction programme complete with a tariff billing system. Posted on 25 February 2010
