RFP issued for industrial water-reuse research

The WateReuse Research Foundation has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a research project to promote water reuse in industry by using experience from existing projects.

The goal of the project, Analysis of Technical and Organizational Issues in the Development and Implementation of Industrial Reuse Projects (WateReuse-12-03), is to promote industrial reuse by harnessing the experience of industrial water-reuse pioneers so that other water agencies and their industrial customers can follow in their footsteps and replicate their success.

The objectives of this project, which fall under the foundation’s Solicited Research Program and Feasibility Studies Program, are:

  • To document and analyze a representative group of successful water reuse projects
  • To identify critical parameters, technical capabilities and regulatory requirements as well as effective communication methods
  • To develop a report and model template that water agencies and their customers can use to generate similar reuse projects nationwide.
  • The San Diego County Water Authority is a funding partner on this project.

Proposals are due by 14 September 2012.
