Groundwater pumping software updated

Schlumberger Water Services (SWS) has released an update version of its groundwater pumping test and slug test data analysis software.

AquiferTest Pro v.2010.1 is loaded with new features that make it easier for users to analyze time-drawdown data, generate more accurate and reliable results, and expand pumping test and slug test applications to new well geometry and field conditions.

SWS claims the following benefits for its updated program:

  • Greater control over manual curve-fitting using the mouse and one-click display of family of type curves
  • Improved performance with new statistical plot showing quality of curve fit (calculated vs observed)
  • Time-saving when analyzing unconfined aquifers – improved Neuman analysis is more than 90 times1 faster than previous version
  • Ability to expand applications to horizontal wells and analyze well skin effects
  • Analysis of slug tests in high conductivity formations that exhibit oscillatory effects
  • Identification of the correct aquifer type and well effects using smoothed drawdown derivative data that users can understand
  • A trial version of the update can be downloaded from the SWS website.
