The Weir name finally dropped out of the desalination mainstream in mid-October when Weir Materials was acquired by Rolled Alloys (RA) a US-based supplier of heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloys and branded stainless steels.
The new company will be called RA Materials and will be located in Weir Materials former office in Manchester England. RA Materials will offer ZERON 100, a high-strength, corrosion-resistant, super-duplex stainless steel.
RA says that this acquisition will partner its extensive range of branded stainless steel, nickel and titanium alloy products, service and processing portfolio and global distribution facilities, with RA Materials and ZERONâ100.
