WRF webcasts look at water reuse and the public

Two webcasts related to the way water reuse is seen by the general public have been announced by the WateReuse Research Foundation.

On 23 June 2011, Laura Kennedy and Jena Debroux from Kennedy/Jenks Consultants and Mark Millan from Data Instincts will present Risk Assessment Study of PPCPs in Recycled Water to Support Public Acceptance (WRF-09-07). The webcast will aim to answer questions about what chemicals remain following treatment, the level of risk they pose and how this can be communicated to communities.

On 24 August 2011, the subject will be Talking About Water: Vocabulary and Images that Support Informed Decisions about Water Recycling and Desalination (WRF-07-03)

Linda Macpherson of CH2M HILL,
Tom Pankratz of Water Desalination Report and
Patsy Tennyson of Katz & Associates Inc will discuss this industry-wide undertaking to investigate how the images and words used to communicate with the public can affect their acceptance of water reclamation and desalination projects.
