Swedish pumps for Adelaide desalination plant

The Wastewater Technology Solutions division of Swedish company Cardo AB has signed a contract to supply and install pumps for the Adelaide seawater desalination plant in Australia.

The order is worth approximately SEK 20 million (US$ 2.4 million).

The five ABS Z22 double-suction centrifugal pump sets will be the outlet pumps for the plant, pumping the desalinated water into the city's drinking-water reticulation system and bulk storage. The pumps, including motors and variable speed drives, will be delivered and installed in 2009 and 2010.
