RO treatment plant planned for Thai resort

A Baht 300 million (US$ 9.75 million) reverse-osmosis (RO) wastewater treatment system is being planned for the coastal resort of Phuket, Thailand.

According to local press reports on 26 April 2012, the Phuket Municipality agreed to provide 800 m² of land for the RO plant to ITR Water Solution Co Ltd of Bangkok. The land was granted under a build-operate-transfer agreement, if the project gets approval.

The plant would treat wastewater from an adjacent treatment plant to produce 15,000-20,000 m³ of high-quality water for the municipality, say the reports.
