Promotions and appointments announced by BWA

Two appointments affecting the European and Americas regions were announced by BWA Water Additives of the US on 2 April 2012, as well as two new vice-president positions.

Marta Farriols has been named sales director for the European region and Erich Dawson has becomes vice president sales for the Americas and European regions.

To strengthen BWA Water Additives‘s marketing and technology programs, a new vice president of marketing, Shanozi (Nozi) Hamidi, has been added; and a vice president of technology, Dr Alastair Sholl, has been named.

Farriols joined BWA in 1999 as sales director for Western Europe and developed the company’s desalination program globally. As director of sales for the European Region, she will be located in Barcelona, Spain, and provide customers with water-treatment chemistries and technical support throughout the European continent.

Dawson joined BWA in 2001, serving as an account manager in North America and then as director of sales for the Americas. He will be located in Atlanta, USA, focussing on the Americas, and also providing oversight support for the European Region.

Hamidi joined BWA in February, 2012 from Ashland Water Technologies where she served as director of global marketing – utility water treatment and commercial/institutional segment. She will also be located in Atlanta, and will focus on the development of strategies and plans for the industrial water treatment and oil and gas markets globally.

Sholl was previously BWA’s Director of Regulatory Affairs. He joined BWA in 1993, where he was instrumental in achieving EU and US EPA regulatory approvals for BWA’s industrial biocides, corrosion inhibitors, antiscalants and desalination technologies. He will be located in Manchester, UK, and will head the team of water treatment technology scientists located in R&D and technology centres in Manchester and Atlanta.
