Papers invited for WSTA 2014 Gulf Water Conference

The Water Science & Technology Association (WSTA) has invited papers for its 11th Gulf Water Conference on Water in the GCC … towards efficient management in October 2014 in Muscat, Oman.

WSTA, an affiliate of the International Desalination Association (IDA), is organizing the event in cooperation with the Oman Ministry of Regional Municipalities & Water Resources and the Omani Water Society, with the support of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The deadline for abstracts for the conference is 31 December 2012.

The conference will focus on the efficiency of the water sector within a demand management framework, as well as related topics for improving the management efficiency in the various consuming sectors, such as appropriate governance approaches and stakeholders participation, legislative consideration, innovative technologies, awareness raising, capacity development, data requirements and transparent decision-making process, economic analysis and benefits, and many other factors relevant to the issue of water efficiency in a scientific forum.

The conference will present the experiences and best practices from different countries in improving water efficiency and overcoming the water challenges in the arid GCC and Arab countries.
