Nomination date nears for IDA’s Young Leaders committee

Time is running short for nominations to the Program Committee of the International Desalination Association’s Young Leaders Program.

Those wishing to seek election for the 2013‑15 committee have until 20 July 2013 to put their names forward.

The committee consists of five regional coordinators representing Europe, North America, the Middle East / Africa, South / Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia / Pacific / Australia, plus five special/technical coordinators. A brief description of the two positions are as follow:

Regional Coordinator: Responsibilities include management and planning and execution for Educational Tours within a particular region. Promotes/handles YLP activities on a regional level, participation in bi-monthly YLPC meetings and conference calls; presence at annual YLPC meetings.

Special Technical/Program Coordinator: Responsibilities include special activities and programs not specific to a region, ie, networking activities, website maintenance, career services, assisting co-chairs with budgets, assisting regional coordinators with educational tours, participation in bi-monthly YLPC meetings and conference calls, presence at annual YLPC meetings etc

Candidates’ bios and photos will be posted on the IDA website by 7 August 2013 and voting will begin. Members of the Young Leaders Program will then have the opportunity to vote online for the Regional and Special/Technical Coordinators. Voting will close on 25 September 2013 and the elected committee will be notified.
