Canada’s H2O Innovation Inc is to supply membrane nanofiltration (NF) water supply systems to two municipalities in Canada and expand an existing system in a third, among contracts totaling Can$ 8 million (US$ 8.25 million) announced on 6 July 2011.
The company announced a record Can$ 17.4 million (US$ 18.0 million) in new bookings during the last quarter of its financial year which ended on 30 June 2011. They brought the company’s backlog to an all time high of Can$ 36.6 million (US$ 37.8 million).
The new municipality systems will go to Rivière-Verte, New Brunswick, and Sutton, Quebec. For these, H2O Innovation has optimized permeate recovery rate above 80%, minimizing water loss and maximizing system efficiency.
As well as expanding the system at Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, Quebec, two orders have also been received from Colorado, USA. The company will deliver a brine minimization system for the East Cherry Creek Valley Water & Sanitation District’s Northern Water Supply Project, while City of Sterling has also selected H2O Innovation to supply an NF membrane system that will produce softened water.
As part of another contract, H2O Innovation will design, fabricate, and deliver a reverse-osmosis membrane filtration system to a US industrial end-user in the energy and power generation sector.
“With demand from the North American industrial market remaining high, we are particularly pleased to observe that approximately two-thirds of the total value of the contracts announced today come from the US and Canadian municipal markets,” stated Frédéric Dugré, president and CEO of H2O Innovation.
