Liberatore becomes GE’s main membrane man

Frederick Liberatore, who has been leading GE’s process membrane business for the past two years, has been given an expanded role as commercial domain leader for spiral-wound and flat-sheet membranes – water and process technologies.

In his expanded role for GE Power & Water, Liberatore will continue to focus on process membrane elements and also on brackish, seawater and flat-sheet membranes. His new role also will provide customer training and expanding the global membrane business.

After entering the membrane business in 1985 as project engineer for reverse-osmosis and ultrafiltration equipment for Desalination Systems Inc, Liberatore transferred to Osmonics Inc when it purchased Desalination Systems in 1997, and GE when it purchased Osmonics in 2003.
