Abstracts of four “notable” papers for the the International Desalination Association’s (IDA) Desalination Industry Action For Good conference in Portofino, Italy, in May were sent out by the association on 18 February 2011.
IDA’s extended deadline for receipt of abstracts for the conference is 28 February 2011.
The papers are:
Minimizing Water Production And Power Inefficiencies Via Distributed Water Recycling by Trevor Hill And Graham Symmonds – Global Water Resources, United States.
Optimized Pretreatment For RO Plants: Biofouling Management by Martin Stahl – Von Roll Bhu Umwelttechnik Gmbh, Germany.
Improving The Sustainability Of Desalination By Combining It With Solar Power Production by Guillermo Zaragoza – Plataforma Solar De Almería, Spain.
Water Supply And Access To Adequate Sanitation For Crisis Affected Population, Veoliaforce by Franck Haaser – Veolia, France
IDA secretary general, Patricia Burke, says, “Due to an overwhelming amount of requests to submit abstracts, we extended the deadline to 28 February to accommodate all interested parties.”
The conference, which is being held in cooperation with the European Desalination Society, is due to take place on 16-18 May 2011.
Supported by Rotary International, the funds raised from this conference will be donated to support a humanitarian project aiming at addressing severe water issues in the District of Ankililoaka, Madagascar, where a population of over 100,000 (50% children) is badly affected by water scarcity.
